PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG joined Sergio Aguero at the top of the goalscoring charts as he slid home the winner for Arsenal at Bournemouth.
Aubameyang turned up trumps with his eighth Premier League goal of the season to help the Gunners to their first win since October 22.
Unai Emery’s side knew they could not afford to lose further ground on their rivals in the chase for a top four finish this season.
And they did just enough to scramble all three points which sees them close up to just a point behind Chelsea in fourth.
Bournemouth will feel aggrieved they were not able to take anything from the game, having dominated their visitors early on.
David Brooks saw a goal ruled out for offside while the Cherries continually exposed Arsenal ’s lack of organisation in a new-look three-man defence.
But Arsenal took the lead against the run of play when Sead Kolasinac whipped in a cross from the left and Jefferson Lima stretched to send a powerful volley into his own net.
The Gunners hard hardly deserved that lead, but they then settled and started to push for another goal before the break.
But they were made to pay for pushing too far forward on the stroke of half-time as the Cherries broke quickly through Callum Wilson, who fed Brooks to roll a ball into the path of Josh King to curl in the equaliser.
Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan wasted two good chances to restore Arsenal’s lead before the Gabon star got on the end of another Kolasinac cross to fire the winner.
