Alisson – 6
Virgil van Dijk bailed the goalkeeper out with a last-ditch tackle on Gerard Deulofeu after his wayward pass in the early stages of the game. Made a good save to deny Roberto Pereyra in the first-half.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8
His stunning 20-yard free-kick wrapped up the points for Liverpool. The 20-year-old is developing into a very accomplished full-back.
Dejan Lovren – 7
Coming in for Joe Gomez, who missed the game with a minor knock, he handled Troy Deeney’s physical presence well.
Virgil van Dijk – 8
He’s so calm on the ball and deceptively quick. His fine start to the season continues. He is a leader in that Liverpool defence.
Andrew Robertson – 5
Not his best display today. The Scot was very lucky not to concede a penalty when he tripped Will Hughes in the box at 0-0. Robertson was picked out in good positions, but his crosses rarely found a Liverpool shirt.
Jordan Henderson – 4
Kept Liverpool’s midfield ticking nicely, but made his team play the remaining eight minutes with 10 men after picking up two avoidable yellow cards.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 5
A quiet game for the Dutchman after his starring role for the Netherlands in their progression to the Nations League semi-finals.
Xherdan Shaqiri – 5
Kept trying to pick that killer pass, which never came off. Failed to build on his impressive performance against Fulham.
Mohamed Salah – 7
Grabbed his ninth goal of the season by showing his usual composure to finish after good work from Sadio Mane. Always tried to run in behind.
Roberto Firmino – 9
Jurgen Klopp has deployed the Brazilian in a deeper position to accommodate Mohamed Salah in recent weeks – and it’s giving the team more balance. He was involved in all three goals; playing Mane in to cross for Salah, winning the free-kick which Alexander-Arnold superbly scored and getting himself on the scoresheet with a close-range header.
Sadio Mane – 8
He celebrated his new long-term contract with an assist. He is so important to this Liverpool side. The Senegalese attacker was a constant threat for the Reds with his industrious work-rate and quality.
Sub: James Milner – 5
Brought on for Xherdan Shaqiri, he gave the Reds more security in midfield.
Sub: Fabinho – N/A
Only played the remaining four minutes.
Sub: Joel Matip – N/A
Came on in injury-time.
