Rash decision Even Utd fans doubt Rashford can achieve his potential at Old Trafford

JUST why is England manager Gareth Southgate managing to get more out of Marcus Rashford, than his club manager, Jose Mourinho?
Despite playing fewer games, Rashford has more goals and assists under Southgate for England this season, than he has for Mourinho and United .
Real Madrid and Juventus are just two of the teams reportedly interested in the youngster.
But there remains doubts among sections of United supporters as to whether Rashford really can go on an fulfil his vast potential.
Recent performances for the national side indicate he’s more than capable and now may be the time for his club manager to trust him with a run of games.
The obstacles for Rashford at United, are obvious... the first being his manager, who expects his team to play in a particular way - defensively.
Then there’s Romelu Lukaku, who is generally one of the first names on the team sheet ahead of Rashford in his favoured position through the middle.
Even when it looked like Rashford was in line to step-in while the Belgian spent time in the treatment room, Alexis Sanchez was given the nod instead.
When he does play for United, be it from the beginning out wide, or as a late impact sub, Rashford often appears jittery on the ball.
It's as if he is trying to force things to happen, in fear that if it doesn’t quite come off he’ll be back on the bench or out of the squad the following week.
The difference for England when he does play is that it’s with a greater confidence and a flexibility to attempt things that perhaps he feels he can’t in the red of United.
Despite his recent Three Lions form, in October's draw in Croatia, Rashford was guilty of missing the kind of one-on-one he would have only dreamed of before kick-off.
There is a top player in there though, but he needs a consistent and familiar run.
Is he going to be the prolific goal scorer some United fans expect? Possibly not.
But he does have enough speed and talent to be a constant thorn in the opposition’s side, he just needs to be allowed to express himself with confidence on a weekly basis.
Can Mourinho bring him reach the next level in the way Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp might? Over to you, sir.
