The average Nigerian is a foodie and we own it with pride. Now for every wedding ceremony that takes place in Nigeria 70% of the guests are there for the food (as much as they are celebrating with you) which means that every wedding ceremony must have certain meals as a staple if not, did you really wed?
Small Chops: What is a wedding cermony without a starter?? The moment you settle at the reception on a table that is decorated with bottled water, juice boxes and wine, within 10/15 minutes of settling down, the waiter must of necessity come forth at that moment with a plate steaming with our small chops faves such as spring rolls, baby puff puff, samosas, peppered gizzards, chicken kebab, asun, stick meat, mini sausage rolls, fish rolls and a lot more.

Jollof Rice: Party jollof rice is the Holy Grail of weddings! Nigerian Jollof is a citizen that features at EVERY nigerian wedding irrespective of tribe. Jollof welcomes you right after the small chops as if to say 'you are very welcome, we are glad to meet you'. It could be served with any side of your choosing.

Fried Rice: This is Jollof's cousin that we sometimes love. Most people pity fried rice by ordering a half serving of awesome jollof accompanied by a half serving of fried rice. Fried rice is awesome but not as awesome as Jollof rice. Argue with your keyboard.

Ofada Rice and Sauce:While we argue over fried rice and jollof rice, ofada rice just sits pretty in a corner, secure in its ayamase sauce dripping with delicious innards, waiting for those that crave a local delicacy with a native scent. Some persons even consider it an healthier option to the other rice variants, either way the pair of ofada rice, ayamase is just splendid!

Swallow and Soups: This includes pounded yam, semo, eba, fufu, amala and the different soups. Rice is good but there are people that no matter the deliciousness of the rice, they would rather fold their sleeves, roll up the swallow and really dig in. It is what it is. Swallow is also served especially for the older folks, its always a trend for them to always opt for swallow rather than rice.

Porridge: Strange as it may seem, porridge is gradually becoming a party favourite. With its vibrant colour, it calls out to yam lovers from far and wide not to forget their roots. Porridge is cooked in many different ways in accordance with national food cultures, customs and traditions.
