WEST HAM 0 EVERTON 2 Zouma and Bernard strike to move Toffees above Hammers into ninth

MARKO ARNAUTOVIC might have trouble explaining this one the next time he picks up the blower to West Ham fans.
Forget the scoreline, his Hammers were absolutely battered as Evertonn leapfrogged them in the Premier League table in the battle to finished seventh.
SunSport revealed yesterday morning the Austrian striker has been personally calling West Ham fans to put across his side of the story after the club blocked his £300,000-a-week move to China in January.
He looked like he was only worth three-bob a week before he was deservedly subbed by boss Manuel Pellegrini in the 68th minute.
BOO BOYS
The home fans booed as Arnie trudged off the pitch to be replaced by Grady Diangana.
It was not clear if the boos were for Arnautovic or the substitution.
One thing is for sure, his display did not warrant applause.
The stroppy frontman’s only sight of goal came in the 14th minute and even then he wasted it by slipping over.
His only other incident of note came after his substitution when he took a seat in the dugout and threw his water bottle down in disgust - the quickest he had moved all evening!
As for Everton they showed plenty of bottle - and quality - as first half goals from Kurt Zouma and Bernard earned them the points.
Marco Silva’s men were sensational as they continued where they left off before the international break when they beat Chelsea 2-0.
Match Stats
Declan Rice was in the Hammers ’ line-up after returning from making his England debut.
He raised a few eyebrows as the sides lined in the tunnel before kick-off by hugging his former Republic of Ireland team-mate Seamus Coleman - but before anybody starts it was only after he had cuddled his new Three Lions pals Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane.
In fairness, that is the closest he got to the visitors before half-time as the visitors’ dominated.
VA VA ZOUM
Zouma put them ahead in the fifth minute when he lost his marker Rice and out-jumped Issa Dop to head home a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner, with the ball bouncing up and over Hammers defender Aaron Cresswell on the line.
It was the on-loan Chelsea centre-back’s second goal for the Toffees.
Keeper Lukasz Fabianski was the only Hammers’ star who looked awake as he pulled off a fine double save to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sigurdson before he blocking Lucas Digne’s shot.
Everton were totally superior in a first half when West Ham looked as though they had given up tracking back and defending for Lent.
Balls across the face of goal from Bernard and Richarlison both eluded outstretched Toffees toes before Silva’s men deservedly scored a second with another fine move in the 32nd minute.
Coleman played a one-two with Richarlison, who cross for Bernard to score with stunning simplicity.
Richarlison then had a shot saved by Fabianski before West Ham were booed off by their own fans at half-time.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini made a double change during the interval with Michail Antonio and Javier Hernandez replacing Pedro Obiang and Lucas Perez, but in the truth it made little difference.
Richarlison went close to adding a third for the visitors when his headed Digne’s corner against the bar late on.
